Hi, I'm Melissa!

I received my first camera when I was 5 years old and I still have that camera to this day. I have always loved taking pictures! For me, I'm freezing a moment that one day may feel like a distant memory. I enjoy looking at past pictures and reminiscing.

I currently enjoy taking pictures of my boys in their various sports, wildlife, and nature photos. I am looking to expand into other photography genres, such as macro, landscapes, and astrophotography. I have always been fascinated with the night sky.

Orange Beach, Alabama

I love visiting the beach! The views and sounds of the waves are very relaxing. I also enjoy looking for birds and ocean animals!

Great Smoky Mountains National Park

I love visiting the Great Smoky Mountains! The views are beautiful and I love looking for wildlife, especially bears!

Birmingham Zoo

I love visiting my local zoo and photographing all the animals!

What Photography Means To Me

Photography improved my life

My love of photography helps me explore and stay active more, even in my backyard! Also, I exercise my mind because I enjoy learning everything I can about photography.

I truly believe that photography helps me enjoy my surroundings more. I have a new appreciation for the beauty of the earth, and I love sharing that beauty with others through my photos. More than just an artistic outlet, photography has become a way for me to be present, mindful, and more deeply connected to the world around me.

My Favorite Photo

I have a difficult time choosing my favorite photo. It is a similar task to choosing my favorite song, or favorite food. It's not easy.

I find that the photo that might be my favorite today will change by next month, and that is because I tend to get attached to the most recent photos I have taken. With that said, this photo is my favorite this month...haha. By next month I hope I will have taken a new photo that I love even more!

My favorite photo for now is this beautiful flower. I took this in my backyard. Now I'm on the search for my next favorite picture!
